Colloquially known as ‘The Beast,’ Akinfenwa is famed for his muscular physique, and has been signed ahead of what BetUK says will be its biggest offering for the Cheltenham Festival.
BetUK’s headline offer in the UK market for the Cheltenham Festival is £60 ($71) in free bets when you bet £20, and runs from 6 March 2023.
Most recently a striker at Wycombe Wanderers, ‘the world’s strongest player’ started fronting BetUK’s festival campaign on 6 March, appearing across the operator’s print, radio, digital and social media.
The festival is due to take place between 14 March – 17 March 2023.
Akinfenwa joins Champion jockey Peter Scudamore and ex-England International Teddy Sheringham as an ambassador for BetUK.
BetUK’s Country Manager for the UK Matt Bramley said: “Who doesn’t love Bayo? Our biggest-ever Cheltenham offer calls for our biggest-ever brand ambassador, which is why he’s the perfect fit for us, ahead of the most eagerly anticipated meeting of the year. We’re thrilled to have Bayo on board.”
Akinfenwa added: “Whoever said size doesn’t matter was lying! I’m massively excited to be teaming up with BetUK ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, which is sure to get off to its strongest start yet on March 14th. Here’s to an epic event.”
The operator will also run its ‘Scu Selects’ podcast ahead of the event, which will feature Scudamore providing expertise and tips to interested punters.
BetUK is part of the LeoVegas Group, which was recently acquired by US operator MGM International.
