FanDuel expands into Mississippi thanks to Boyd Gaming partnership

The daily fantasy sports site was ranked the top sportsbook in New Jersey during its first month of operations and will now expand into the Magnolia State, which opened its doors to sports bettors last month.

FanDuel is owned by PaddyPower Betfair (PPB), following a July takeover, and has its parent company’s partnership with Boyd Gaming to thank for this latest expansion.

The sportsbook will open for business at 2pm local time on Thursday at IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, which is owned by Boyd. IP first took sports bets on 3 August but will now be rebranded as FanDuel Sportsbook.

As part of Boyd’s wider agreement with PPB, it will connect 29 casinos across 10 states with 8 million FanDuel customers.

Matt King, FanDuel CEO, said: “The sportsbook at IP Casino is adjacent to Highlights Sports Lounge. Customers will see FanDuel signs and consistent branding at the IP and at all the locations it opens.”
