Memorial held in honour of Victoria Bonner

A memorial has been held in honour of Victoria Bonner in Malta, who recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43.

Bonner spent over 10 years in the gaming industry, following spells at companies such as Natwest and Kaizo.

Bonner quickly made a name for herself within gaming, spending over two years at Odobo, before becoming Events Manager at NetEnt. At Odobo, she suggested adding a Game of the Year category for the EGR Operator Awards, which was duly implemented.

Bonner then became Head of Marketing at Pragmatic Play, before spending almost four years in the same role at Relax Gaming. At Pragmatic Play, Bonner made the front page of the Times of Malta with her “Deano the Dino,” who also had his own Facebook page.

Her legacy at Relax Gaming, meanwhile, will forever be felt given how well she established the supplier’s marketing strategy.

A CMO role at Sportingtech followed, before other C-Level spells at Gaming Corps and more.

Gambling Insider would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Bonner’s family and friends, especially her two sons that survive her.

Tereza Melicharkova, Head of Marketing at Glitnor Group, said: “I started working with my dear friend and mentor, Victoria Bonner, at NetEnt in the same week in February 2016. She was new to Malta, and I did my best to show her the beauties of this lovely Mediterranean island, hoping she wouldn’t miss Gibraltar, where she had lived before, too much. With Vic, we experienced our highs and lows, but we always managed to become stronger!

“Victoria guided and supported me throughout my career and, thanks to her, I am where I am today. Her creativity was unparalleled, a rarity not only in our industry but beyond. Her innovative spirit and visionary ideas set her apart as a true marketing specialist and industry expert.

“I miss her deeply and will forever cherish the memories and wisdom she imparted. Victoria will stay in my heart forever, her influence and inspiration continuing to guide me.”

Following the memorial, a funeral will take place in London within the next few weeks.
