Regis Dudena appointed Secretary of Prizes and Bets by Ministry of Finance

Regis Dudena, a seasoned lawyer with expertise in Public and Regulatory Law, has been appointed as the new Secretary of Prizes and Betting at the Ministry of Finance in Brazil.

Dudena brings a wealth of legal experience to his new role, having pursued advanced studies in Law at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where he is currently a PhD student.

Throughout his professional career, Dudena has held various positions of responsibility in both the public and private sectors. This has included serving as a partner in a law firm specialising in Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy.

Dudena has also contributed his expertise to governmental organisations, having served as the legal superintendent of Desenvolvimento São Paulo, the Development Agency of the State of São Paulo and as a legal advisor to the presidency of the Development Bank of Minas Gerais.

With his extensive background in law and regulatory affairs, Dudena aims to ensure the effective administration of regulatory policies within his new role.

In related news, it was recently announced that Brazil is set to ban free bets and bonuses as part of an update to its regulations. The amended regulatory framework is expected to come into force by late October 2024.
