Allwyn is promoting the 2024 Wings for Life World Run charity event.
The UK National Lottery operator will support and promote the charity event as its global partner, which is held to donate money towards spinal cord injury research and clinical studies.
The 2023 Wings for Life World Run charity event raised €43m ($45.8m) for these good causes.
The event is global and inclusive, inviting people of all physical abilities to take part.
Allwyn Chief Global Brand, Corporate Communication and CSR Officer Pavel Turek, said: “Allwyn’s commitment to inclusivity and giving back to good causes makes our partnership with the Wings for Life World Run a perfect match.
“We are proud to be going into our second year as official global partner to this unique and inspiring event.
“With each person wheeling, running, or walking their own race together, however we take part, we all win.”
Rather than having a set route or finish line, a virtual Catcher Car will begin its chase 30 minutes after the race starts.
It will slowly increase in speed, and once it overtakes you, you’ve finished the race.
The Catcher Car will continue to overtake every participant in the global race, whether they are rolling, walking or running, until everyone has been caught.
Chair of the British Paralympic Association, Nice Webborn, said: “As we approach the Paris 2024 Paralympics, it is a great time to demonstrate the importance of inclusivity in sports.
“The vision of the British Paralympic Association is ‘Through sport, a better world for disabled people’.
“The values of Allwyn and the Wings for Life World Run marry perfectly with this vision, and highlights what makes participating in this event so valuable.”
Not only will Allwyn promote the event in Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Greece & Cyprus, UK, and the United States, over 7,000 of its employees will actively take part in the run itself.
Wheelchair Sports Director for the Wings for Life World Run, Marc Herremans, said: “I have experienced first-hand how a spinal cord injury can transform your life.
“With the support of Allwyn colleagues and global participants in this year’s race, we move one step closer to improving the quality of life of people with spinal cord injuries around the world.”
In other CSR news, the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) Grand National Charity Bet campaign 2024 raised over £15,000 ($18,662.63) for good causes.
