Arno de Jong has been appointed Chief Customer Officer (CCO) of Nederlandse Loterij. In his new role, de Jong joins the Executive Board, which also includes CEO Arjan Blok and CFRO Jet Roos-van Aerssen.
Alexander Pechtold, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nederlandse Loterij, announced the appointment.
Pechtold stated: “With Arno de Jong as CCO in the Executive Board of Nederlandse Loterij, we are putting our player even more in the heart of the organisation. So that we also remain leading and distinctive in the future – both digitally and in shops.”
De Jong has been with Nederlandse Loterij since 2016, serving as CMO. Before this, he was the Marketing Director of De Lotto, which merged with De Nederlandse Staatsloterij to form Nederlandse Loterij. His tenure has been marked by growth in the organisation’s market position.
This appointment occurs amid significant changes in the Dutch gaming industry. René Jansen, outgoing Chairman of the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), recently highlighted several concerns, including the potential privatisation of Nederlandse Loterij.
“In a speech in Amsterdam, Jansen discussed the increased focus on regulating online gambling advertisements and efforts to combat illegal gambling activities. He also addressed issues with the self-exclusion program, Cruks, which has faced implementation challenges.
Nederlandse Loterij has also been advancing its technological capabilities. In 2021, Intralot’s Dutch subsidiary, Intralot Benelux BV, partnered with Nederlandse Loterij to support its sports betting platform.
This collaboration included implementing the LotosX platform, facilitating the transition of the operator’s full gaming portfolio. Additionally, Intralot introduced 4,300 photon terminals and a signage solution to enhance the retail experience of Nederlandse Loterij’s offerings.
