DigiPlus believes 24/7 online bingo operations will not be affected by the POGO ban.
Philippines-based gaming company DigiPlus Interactive Corp. assured its shareholders and customers alike that the POGO ban announced by President Marcos Jr. on Monday will not affect the company.
“DigiPlus is not a POGO or an Internet Gaming Licensee (IGL) as defined under Philippine laws,” DigiPlus President Andy Tsui said, as quoted by Philippines news reports.
DigiPlus explained that, as a local gaming operator, it was a requirement to have a physical site in the country before it could set up its online gaming platform operations.
The operator also further stated that it had secured licences to operate traditional bingo, electronic bingo games, electronic gaming services, sports betting, specialty games and poker.
DigiPlus operates a 24/7 online bingo streaming platform BingoPlus, and also provides online games such as ArenaPlus, Perya Game, and BingoPlus Poker to its customers, majority in the Philippines.
Shortly after President Marcos Jr’s announcement, PAGCOR and some representatives have also voiced their concerns regarding the ban, which include potential loss of state revenue while having no guarantee that the ban would stop the perpetrators.
