Best NFL Week 2 Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Keenan Allen Under 71.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

The Chargers and Titans will play today in Nashville, with both of these teams coming off a loss in Week 1. The Chargers were in a shootout with the Dolphins in a high scoring game. Keenan Allen ended up with 76 receiving yards due to these teams going back and forth on offense to stay in the game. I expect this game against the Titans to be much lower scoring with an emphasis on the defense and running game. This should lead to less possessions and less passing attempts this week for Justin Herbert. I just don’t see Keenan Allen replicating the same performance against a stout Titans defense at home. Expect this game to be a grind and have Allen ending up with around 50-60 yards at best. Take this under with confidence today in Tennessee.

Michael Pittman Jr. Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

The Colts will visit the Texans this afternoon for an AFC South divisional battle that will have two rookie Quarterbacks vying for their first win. We saw Anthony Richardson connect with Michael Pittman Jr. 8 times last weeks for 97 yards and a TD against Jacksonville. It seems Richardson established his favorite target early and will look to depend on Pittman Jr. throughout the season. Now, they will face a less formidable defense in the Texans, with Richardson feeling more comfortable with a game under his belt. I think this Pittman Jr. prop is a bit low at 55.5, as the Colts don’t have a lot of competition in the WR room for targets. I expect Pittman to be targeted early and often in this game, as the Texans Secondary is dealing with some injuries, most notably Jalen Pitre at the safety position. Take this Pittman Jr. Over prop with confidence against this Texans Secondary today.

Travis Etienne Jr. over 19.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

One of the best games of the day is the Chiefs visiting Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars this afternoon in a 2022 playoff rematch. It will be a battle of the Quarterbacks, with the great Patrick Mahomes facing the rising star in Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars will be looking for some revenge on their home field, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them come out hot and take an early lead. However, if this Chiefs offense finds its groove with Kelce back in the mix, we could see the Jaguars playing from behind most of the game. The X-Factor for me in this game is Travis Etienne Jr. I think the Chiefs will have a hard time containing him and his speed on the outside. They’re still lacking Chris Jones in the trenches, as he will be on a snap count today as he returns from his holdout. This Chiefs Defense needs their superstar to perform well. I think Doug Pederson calls a good offensive game plan today to get Etienne the ball in space. All it takes is one catch for Etienne to hit the over on this prop, and if they’re trailing late in the game, he could be a reliable check down for Lawrence as they attempt to mount a comeback.

Look for Etienne to have a big day against an average Kansas City defense looking to find their way.
