This year’s competition will see teams of racehorse trainers and jockeys represent seven regions across Great Britain and Ireland compete in six fixtures.
Racing League will begin on 4 August 2022, taking place at Doncaster Racecourse. The tournament will feature a total of 42 races, with teams being scored on a points basis depending on their final position.
Racing League will offer over £2m ($2.4m) in prize money for tournament winners. Champions include the top team as well as the jockey who accumulates the most points across the event.
William Hill has named The East (representing East England) odds on for the title at 5/2, while the favourite for top jockey is Daniel Muscutt, with an 8/1 chance of being crowned the victor. Muscutt will ride for London and The South.
Racing League will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing and ITV Racing this August.
William Hill Sponsorship and UK Creative Director of Media Liam McKee said: “The innovative and unique concept of Racing League has always appealed to us at William Hill and, with the planned changes to the 2022 format, we’re excited to be involved in Racing League once again.”
Racing League CEO Jeremy Wray added: “We took in a huge amount of feedback following the inaugural running of Racing League in 2021, and have been keen to add several innovations into this year’s competition.
“In total, 125 trainers have signed up to take part, in regional teams this year, which we hope will create a competition that is equally as compelling for racing fans and punters. William Hill is, of course, a well-known and longtime supporter of racing in this country, and we are delighted to welcome them back to Racing League.
“We look forward to working together in promoting both their brand, as well as our competition to racing fans and their customer base alike.”
